Global motorshows are all about products, thus
becoming a platform for car manufacturers to show the world what they'll be
getting to the market and what they're capable of producing. You might think
that Paris is a far-off land and has no connection with India, but that's where
you're wrong. India is a big market for these European players and there were a
few cars that will make it to Indian shores and here's a list of them all.
Volkswagen Passat
Volkswagen has already brought in a rampage of
facelifts to India and it all started with the Polo followed by the Vento. The
Passat is the next in line, but it will not be a facelift. The 8th generation
Passat will make its way to India soon and we expect it to be available by late
next year, probably September 2015. The new Passat gets a new face and will
come with two engine options - the 1.4-litre TSI petrol and the 2.0-litre TDI
diesel. According to the people at VW, the diesel version will be powerful and
economical.
Land Rover Discovery Sport
This will be one of the most anticipated cars and
Land Rover is all charged up about bringing the car to India. We expect the car
to be launched in India mid next year and. We have written extensively about the Discovery Sport and we have some pictures for you too.
Jaguar XE
Yes, it was a car that was always in the works and
Jaguar had always maintained that it will be out soon. The BMW 3-series and the
Mercedes-Benz C-Class have a lot to worry about as the baby Jag comes to India.
We will see the cars on Indian roads by late next year.
BMW X6
Well, what do we say about this, the facelift will
be coming to India and from what we have heard, it will be soon. The X6 has not
lost any of its dimensions so it still has that protruding rear and for some
that makes it special, however, we beg to differ. There have been changes made
to the interior and the exterior and it is a proper update.
Skoda Fabia
This was a long awaited update. Skoda revealed the
all-new Fabia but the question of if and when it will come to India, remains
unanswered. Yes, we hope to see this car on Indian roads but Skoda still hasn't
taken a decision about this.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class
The Mercedes Benz B-Class gets a minor facelift and
gets updated. We've a lot to say about it and you can read all about it. There are
minor changes to the front and rear but it still remains to be seen how Indians
warm up to this new one.
Honda HR-V, CR-V and Jazz
It all started with the Vezel and then the urban
SUV concept. Honda showcased the HR-V, CR-V facelift and the new Jazz at this
Motorshow. The HRV will come to India and it fits the bill for a compact SUV
and we will see it here soon but not before the all-new Jazz. The Jazz will
come to India first and then the HRV but then there is the question of the CR-V
which gets a facelift. Well, the changes are minor, like the chrome on the
front and some more chrome at the rear. For some reason though, Honda still
calls it a prototype. Yes it's got the prototype blemishes but to us looks
production ready.
